CVS Health and Walgreens are seeking approval from the U. S. Food and Drug Administration to sell generic versions of its popular erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra, after a long-term study found it could help boost sales of the drug by as much as 60%.
The Food and Drug Administration approved Viagra, which is the generic equivalent of CVS Health’s popular generic drug, in late March. CVS also announced that it would begin selling the drug for the first time in May, after the FDA approved a longer-term study that showed it could potentially help boost sales of the brand.
